How about an April fools day event hat that makes you a stick man?
That way it would be permanent but you could also take it off when you want to, to show off your normal looks.

Though, I'd prefer the traditional tonic a bit more than ever lasting. However, they could make the ever lastings part of the third birthday so then they'd devalue pretty quick.

Personally, I thought the gender change joke was more unexpected and freaked more people out seeing as this could actually happen and would make for a better tonic.

I think all tonics should be turned into hats that can be removed, So the effects last as long as we want. (Great idea!)

hmm here is a wierd twist on the sex change tonics.
it is amagic potion that can be previewed as many times as you want. but you can only change once. Its part of a odd quest that can only be done once per character.
